Redefining the Curve
The McLaren P1 is a masterclass in aerodynamic performance. At Fluent, we wanted to take that DNA and push it further, treating the vehicle not just as a piece of engineering, but as a canvas for speculative automotive design.
Light as Form
A design study exploring the future language of speculative automotive design. Moving beyond traditional 3D production, we reimagined the iconic McLaren P1 to showcase our studio’s vision, technical pipeline, and approach to form. We didn’t just render a car, we redesigned it.
Design & Execution
While we subtly tuned the front and side silhouettes, our primary focus was the rear. We re-engineered the tail architecture to elevate the curved tail lights, transforming them into the definitive hero element of the car’s profile.
To achieve hyper-real execution, we built a custom multi-platform pipeline:
Modeling: Every component built from the ground up in Blender.
Texturing: Complex material shading developed in Cinema 4D.
Rendering: Photorealistic, long-exposure lighting executed via V-Ray.
Integrating Reality
The vehicle is set within a hybrid digital environment. By merging our own street photography from London with advanced CG, we created a cinematic, high-exposure atmosphere where the environment's light trails mirror the motion of the redesigned tail lights.
A concept built for the fandom; a testament to Fluent's capabilities in CGI and art direction.

Technical & Creative Studies
Advanced Texturing: We utilized Cinema 4D to develop hyper-realistic, complex material shaders that respond dynamically to environmental shifts.
To bring this vision to life with uncompromising realism, our team executed a complex, multi-platform pipeline.
Cinematic Lighting & Rendering: Powered by the V-Ray engine, we established a high-end photographic look, leaning into a long-exposure aesthetic that mirrors the sweeping motion of the car’s tail lights.
Bespoke 3D Modeling: Every single component of the vehicle was meticulously modeled from the ground up in Blender, ensuring precise geometry and seamless body integration.
Real-world Street Photography
We took to the streets of London, capturing high-end photography to act as the foundation for our CG environments. By seamlessly blending real-world street photography with advanced digital environments, we placed our remixed P1/720 into a hyper-real, cinematic urban landscape.
